French Fields Luxury Yurts And Tents
Based in the Poitou Charente region of S.W. France, French Fields Luxury Glamping offers a truly relaxing getaway from the stresses of modern life. Our original Mongolian Yurt is constructed using traditional methods and uses sustainable materials. Stargazer Yurt and our New Twin Emperor Bell Tent are served by solar panels enabling you to charge your mobile phones and computers.
We are a small Glamp-site, with only 2 tents. Stargazer Yurt and our New Twin Emperor Tent
This ensures a truly relaxing holiday.
Accommodation
The Stargazer Yurt which sleeps 4 has a large comfortable king-Size bed and there is a day bed, which converts to sleep an additional two people. A additional single bed can be added. You can relax in your bed and gaze at the stars through the clear crown of the yurt. What a truly magical way to fall asleep. The Yurt is served by a composting toilet, (10m away) or
if you prefer there is a newly fitted shower room with flushing toilet.
For Summer 2022 our 5 person Emperor Tent can sleep up to a maximum 6 people in 1 Double Bed, 2 Single Beds and 1 Set of Bunk Beds
Amenities
Guests have the use of a fully fitted summer kitchen, which is situated in our lovely open barn. It comprises of 2 x Fridge Freezers, Range Cooker, Microwave, Tea and Coffee facilities, BBQ,
Wood burning Stove , Fire Pit,
Flat Screen TV, Free WiFi.
Each guest has the use of their own Fridge Freezer.
Friendly Dogs welcome, but we must advise that our land (10 acres) is not enclosed. We can provide a 20m staked lead. We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

On Site Amenities
Guests have the use of a Pool Table, Ping-Pong and Darts. Bikes are available free of charge. The Charente has very good bike trails for those who love to get out and about. French Fields offers a safe and magical place for children to run and play safely. With plenty of space to explore the countryside and take part in the many activities available. New for 2024 is a large Fire Pit/Bbq.
Things to Do
The Charente has so much to offer, it is a magnet for food & wine lovers. A day trip to the area's vineyards are a must. World renowned Wine and Cognac houses offer great tours. Leave room in your suitcase as you won't be able to resist taking home a bottle or two!
The Chateau La Rochefoucauld is so beautiful and is well worth a visit.
The historic town of Confolens is so pretty, with many riverside restaurants and bars. Why not hire a canoe or kayak and while away the day on the river, stopping off at one of the many pretty villages to have a picnic? The town of Confolens holds a music festival every August. The whole town vibrates with the sound of music and drums and you cannot help but dance. It's well worth a visit. Its the perfect place for artists to immerse themselves in the stunning light and beautiful surrounding's which has inspired so many famous artists.
Markets are held weekly and you can while away the hours at the many Brocantes ( antique shops) in the local area.
Or you could just relax on your deck and watch the stunning sunsets and look up at the stars and try to spot the Space Station. The Charente is renowned for it's big skies, making it ideal for astronomers to scan the night sky for planets and
stars and the space station can also be seen. Its a wonderful sight. There are many attractions for the children to visit. Zip wire and climbing frames through the tree tops set in beautiful countryside, and after all that excitement cool down with a swim in the Charente lakes the (Lavaud and Mas Chaban lakes) offer many activities for children and adults. These include sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and paddle boarding. And a nearby equestrian centre close to Lac Lavaud
offers horse and pony riding. All the lakes have snack bars, perfect for lunch on the fine sandy beaches.

Historic City of Angouleme with its stunning cathedral, The town holds a classic car rally every September.
La Vallee des Singes: Monkey Park.
Oradour-sur-Glane: WW2 History. Village destroyed by 'SS' Very Sombre but well worth a visit.
La Rochelle: Within a 2 hour drive: Costal Beaches
